Welcome 2012!

(<--Photo taken 01.01.2012. Nikki, Bev, & Bree) Picture a day... 1 of 365!

Happy New Year one and all! As I welcome 2012, I'm overwhelmed with the feeling of hope. 2011 was a rather eventful year for me, a rather 'dark' eventful journey. There was the great days filled with celebrating the life of my family member's. New love, engagements, exciting excursions and travel, and the simplicity of spending quality time with my beautiful daughters, and my amazing extended family. I hope in these next 365 days, the Lord continues to bless me with happiness, continued love and support from family and friends, strength, wisdom, knowledge, & most of all, humility.
I hope to accomplish a majority of my goals that I have set for myself. Hope --Webster defines this as a desire to believe with much confidence. 'Confidence' --Confidence is definitely a trait I intend to work on in 2012. I'm hoping that the good ol' fashion way of losing weight by dieting and exercising becomes a terrific victory for me.

As I end this post I would like to end my thoughts with this: Life is truly complex/simplicity. Secret to life is simply this...expect nothing...you get NO disappointments. Life flashes before your very eyes. Run after it, embrace it..before life runs you. Peace. Love. Happiness. &many blessings 2012!

NBA All Star weekend & some vacay preparations...

This weekend has been VERY relaxing so far. I dont think I've slept through the entire morning since I was in High School. I slept til 12pm today, but then again I was up til 4AM. I love the fact that there is no work tomorrow, Thank-you to the past & present Presidents!!! :) I'm still fighting this cold/cough, I think I've spent over $45 just on cold remedies alone. ugh! I'm VERY lucky I haven't coughed out a lung yet. There is nothing better than watching my husband get excited over the All Star game. Gotta love the simple things in life.
...&did I mention...60 more hours & the hubby &i will be Vegas bound? yay! I can't wait! now back to the All Star Game &Rhianna's performance ;)

01.14.2011::Jay & I attend Kariba Jack's photography launch party. VERY pink & elegant to say the least.

noelani & nevaeh 01.19.2011just before Christmas my two daughters have grown to the liking of popular name brand clothes items and ritzy department stores. so ashamed to admit that one wishes to shop at Victoria's Secret while the younger one claims that Macy's is her 'favorite' store. i'm not too fond with this new liking. i describe this experience with my children to be a dramatic one. As I express to those as I re-tell the story that I felt like 'a part of me had died' when discovering that they are into these types of things. however; i couldn't help but hide my true feelings, i enjoyed the belly aching laughter after discovering this. it just goes to show, that children truly do observe and look up to those who they rely on to be wonderful role models. so i ask myself? am i a wonderful, let alone GOOD role model for my children? i guess i would have to see. thats a whole other blog in itself... hehehe. ::both noelani & nevaeh dislike the crust on their sandwhiches, so i have invested on the 'crust cuttter'. it has a cutesy shape to it, a heart shape. the girls adore this, makes them excited to EAT their food, since they are rather PICKY eaters.
noelani's midnight snack. a 'heart-shaped' turkey & cheese sandwich. i wish they had this when i was younger and disliked the crust. this
crust cutter. can be found atWalmart, Target, or Safeway.
0122.2011..now off to get ready for a photoshoot...will update later today...be blessed & love abundantly...xoxo

missing comforters...

i managed to fix the bed yesterday morning...kicking the princess and the mister man out so that i can do some well needed attention to the room..it looked as if hurricane ike had just paid our bedroom a visit. as i move on to the kitchen vaeh manages to play a little game with me. she runs into our bedroom...grabs the comforter from our bed (mind you its a pretty big comforter..fits a queen size bed). she grabs the accent pillows from the sofa...and decides to set up 'camp' in the middle of the hallway...and scream out load "mommy i can't find you!! mommy where are you?!" i peek my head around the corner...and she pulls the cover over her head...looking a little something like this....

U.S. COAST GUARD HELICOPTER CRASHES OFF HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

HONOLULU -- A U.S. Coast Guard HH-65 Dolphin helicopter crashed this evening approximately five miles south of Honolulu International Airport.

The helicopter's four-man crew was conducting search and rescue drills with a 47-foot motor lifeboat from Station Honolulu when it went down at 8:15 p.m. The Coast Guard was notified by the FAA and immediately launched a C-130 search plane from Air Station Barbers Point.

A crew on board an inbound Air Force C-17 to Honolulu International saw the Coast Guard helicopter go down and circled the site until a rescue boat from the Honolulu Fire Department could get on scene.

The 47-foot motor lifeboat is also on scene, as is the C-17, the C-130 and helicopters from the Honolulu Fire and Police Departments. The Coast Guard will meet with media at 10 p.m. outside the main base at Sand Island.

Hawaii's Senator & Rep express their condolences:
Condolences from Sen. Inouye & Rep. Hirono on USCG Crash

Statement by Congresswoman Hirono on the loss of three crewmembers during U.S. Coast Guard Helicopter Crash in waters off Oahu:

"I am deeply saddened to learn of the three lives lost during last night's Coast Guard helicopter crash that took place during a regularly scheduled search and rescue drill.

"I express my sincere condolences to the families, friends and colleagues who have lost loved ones in this tragic and unfortunate event. I also offer my hope and prayers that the fourth crewmember will be found safely, and brought home. We are all extremely grateful to those brave men and women of the United States Coast Guard who serve so proudly and bravely to protect our state, and our country. Their sacrifice and service will not be forgotten."

From U.S. Sen. Daniel K. Inouye:

"I was very saddened to learn of the tragic training accident which has taken the lives of three brave Coast Guardsmen, with an additional one still missing. My heart goes out to their families.

"This is a lesson to one and all about the fragility of life, and that as a member of our Armed Forces, harm's way need not only be on foreign soil, or a battlefield. For the many people who are alive today because of the Coast Guard's valiant search and rescue efforts, this tragic training loss is shouldered by all of us in the community."

I think that Sen. Inouye couldn't have said it better. Many out there think that the Coast Guard isn't the 'real' military. When in fact, the Coast Guard risks their life every day; saving thousands of lives each year. whether it be rescue swimmer propelling out of a helo and saving a fisherman in the roughest seas, whether it be the pilot, the coxswain (the driver of the boat), the E-3 pulling the drowning victim from the ocean, we need not be in foreign soil to be in harm's way...this tragic event occurred while conducting drills/training.

trainning...something way too familiar for me. as a qualified crewman on the 47 foot motor lifeboat at Station Honolulu, this tragic event has really hit home in more ways than one. My heart-felt and deepest condolences goes out to the wives, children, and extended family of these brave coasties…who has made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our wonderful nation.
